Building Bridges This Fall

At Bridgeway Community Church, local outreach is about more than hosting events or meeting immediate needs. It’s about people. It’s about showing compassion, helping others, building meaningful relationships, and creating opportunities for our church family to step outside the walls of the church and serve our community.
Through community initiatives, partnerships, collaboration, and strategic events, we have the opportunity to bring healing, help, and hope to the people around us. October through December is one of the busiest and most meaningful seasons for the Local Outreach Ministry at Bridgeway!
As the holidays approach, there are many individuals and families in our community who could use a little extra help, encouragement, and care. This season gives us countless opportunities to come alongside them and remind them that they are seen, valued, and loved.
CandyFEST:
We kick off this season of outreach with CandyFEST, a fun-filled community event designed to bring people together and create opportunities for connection.
Through games, activities, candy, and plenty of fun, CandyFEST gives us a chance to welcome our neighbors onto our campuses and build relationships in a relaxed and inviting environment. But behind all the fun is something even more important, building bridges to our community.
To make CandyFEST a success, we need candy donations! Every bag of candy donated helps us create a fun and welcoming experience for the children and families who join us. Your generosity helps us love and serve our community in a tangible way.
Every volunteer who greets a family, helps with a game, serves candy, or simply takes time to talk with a guest is helping Bridgeway build important community connections. Through your donations, your time, and your willingness to serve, you are helping us build bridges and make a difference in the lives of our neighbors.
Thanksgiving Meals to Our Community:
Thanksgiving is another opportunity to put compassion into action. Once again we are blessed to be able to bless individuals and families in our community with free Thanksgiving meals.
Providing a meal is about more than food. It’s an opportunity to remind someone that their community cares about them and that they don't have to walk through difficult seasons alone. Together, we can meet a practical need while creating an opportunity to share the love of Christ.
Angels for Kids:
The holiday season can be especially difficult for families who are struggling financially. Through Angels for Kids, we have the opportunity to help make Christmas a little brighter for children in our community.
By sponsoring a child, you can provide gifts that may otherwise not be possible for their family. Every gift represents more than a package under a Christmas tree, it represents kindness, generosity, and a reminder that someone cares.
But the outreach doesn’t end when the gifts are purchased.
Our Angels for Kids Pick-Up Party creates an opportunity for us to show love and care to the families who come to receive their gifts. Volunteers will have the opportunity to welcome families, serve them, encourage them, and help create a meaningful experience during what can be a challenging season.
It Takes All of Us!
Local outreach happens when we build into one another and work together. This season, there are many ways to get involved:
Pray
Pray for the individuals and families we’ll serve, as well as our volunteers and outreach teams. Pray that every interaction reflects the love, compassion, and hope of Jesus.
Give
Your generosity helps us meet real needs in our community. Whether you're donating candy, sponsoring an Angel for Kids, or giving toward our outreach efforts, every gift makes a difference.
Serve
From events to meal distributions and everything in between, there are many opportunities to volunteer. Your time, talents, and presence matter.
Building Bridges, Changing Lives
Every meal, gift, conversation, donation, and volunteer is an opportunity to build a bridge to our community. This season, we aren't simply checking events off a calendar, we're serving people, building relationships, and showing compassion.
Together, we can build bridges and make a difference in the lives of our neighbors.
