Sign the Gracism Creed here

Listen to Dr. Anderson’s response on Moody Radio

Hey, everybody. This is Dr. David Anderson. I am in transit right now, and I’m sure you all know what’s going on in the nation’s capital. This is a moment where we as Gracists have to figure out, what does bridge building look like in the midst of an insurrection, right there at the Capitol in Washington, D.C.? We have the Capitol breached. We have elected officials on lockdown. We have people shot. We have a vice president, a Republican vice president who has been evacuated. We have people holding up Jesus Saves signs, flying the flag of President Trump.

But notice the different colors of people. Not very many different colors of people. If this was a group of primarily black folk, people of color or a multicultural group, the president would be coming out with the military, with a Bible, and standing in front of a church. What is he doing right now? This is not the time to stand for President Trump. This is not the time to just stand for Joe Biden. This is a time to stand for the Prince of Peace, instead of the prince of the power of the air.

What you’re seeing right now is the prince of the power of the air taking control of our country, where people who have been literally trained in their thinking to believe that somehow the contradictions of law and order, these are fine people, and these contradictions of, “Don’t have riots. Submit to the governing authorities.” Where’s all that right now?

This is where we need Christians to stand up and to be Gracists, by saying, “I will stand with you.” People who have been oppressed. People who are in fear right now. People who realize that this is no longer about politics. This is about power. Okay? And it’s about white power. Let’s be clear about it. This is about power. And when the powers that be are so afraid of losing that power, this is the spirit in the air that is allowing this to take place. Do not allow your hearts to be hardened. Do not allow yourself to be spiritually blind. This is a battle between the Prince of Peace and the prince of the power of the air. That’s what you’re witnessing.

Again, if it were a bunch of black folks storming the Capitol, they’d be dead right now. I want you to see the contradictions. A man without a gun kneeling at a sports rally creates all this kind of anti-patriot mindset. Right? But then you can storm the Capitol and you’re a patriot. You can be a rioter, and all of the sudden you’re on God’s side? What was happening when there were protests for a man who was killed, plenty of men and women who were killed and unarmed? You can have a cigarette and be dead, and not be prosecuted. Now people can literally storm the Capitol and go stand right there in the House, stand behind the podium. Nobody… And that’s okay?

This is white power at its worst. Maybe not at its worst, but it’s pretty bad. It will get to its worst if we do not have people stand up and speak for what Gracism means, and that means extending positive favor to those who don’t deserve it, don’t earn it, can’t repay it. But it also means that in doing that, you’re going to stand up for those who don’t have the power, stand up for those who are being marginalized.

And so, what I want you to do, whoever you are, wherever you are, is I want you to do a couple of things. First of all, I want you to bow in prayer and ask God that the Prince of Peace would take over the demonic spirits that are in movement right now, not only in the nation’s capital, but maybe even where you are, wherever you are. So, pray against the demonic spirits, and ask the Prince of Peace to come.

Secondly, what I want you to do is to speak out. Not in a negative way that becomes vengeful or insulting, but in a real talk way, a critical way that has a positive tone. That means you can have passion, but do not be divisive. Now, does that mean you can’t speak truth to power? You have to, because we’re dealing with a prince of the air power play, that we cannot simply sit back and say, “But it’s God, and it’s okay. We’re following Jesus.” No, friends. This is not following Jesus. This is following a power that is being unseated, and that power that’s being unseated and that has been defeated is now clapping back. And you have an opportunity to say, “No. I see it for what it is, and as a result, I’m speaking against it.” In other words, pray yes, but rebuke. Okay? Pray that the Prince of Peace will take over, but rebuke the spirits and the mindset that has given an open pathway for this kind of behavior.

The third thing I want you to do is I want you to ask questions. Ask questions about how people are doing around you. “How are you feeling? What do you think we can do about this?” Ask good questions, so people have a chance to voice their thoughts and their feelings, especially those who are minorities. Ask your minority friends, “How are you doing today?” Because they’re people who are in fear right now, because they see what they call whitelash. Whenever you make advances for diversity, there is a lashing back from people who are in power, white people who are in power, and it’s very fearful for a lot of people. Now, I’ve got a lot of white friends and family who are praying with us, who are rebuking this as well, so pray. Rebuke it, regardless of color, class, or culture. Ask questions. All right? So people have an opportunity to voice their thoughts and their feelings.

And the last thing I’m going to ask you to do is yield. Okay? This is where all of us just yield to the Holy Spirit, power down, slow our speech, and let God be God. In other words, do not fear. God is God, all by Himself. He is the Creator. He is the Redeemer. He is the King. He is still large and in charge, and the Prince of Peace has got this, so you can yield and take a deep breath in the midst of this. Don’t fight back. Don’t go to where the protestors are. Don’t fight people online. Don’t fight people over text. Don’t fight people over social media. All right? Yield. If somebody wants to fight you over this, remember this is not your battle. It’s not against flesh and blood. All right? It’s against principalities, powers of darkness that are circling throughout our country.

And God is calling us to pray, to rebuke that which we see that we know is from the prince of the power of the air, to ask questions so people have a chance to voice their thoughts and their feelings, and then to yield to the Holy Spirit, knowing that we can have the peace of God in our hearts, regardless of what is going on out in the streets. But I do have a special call for my religious Christians, Evangelicals, those who cling to God’s word, and that is this: Do not be silent. Even if you voted for Mr. Trump, even if you’re a great Republican, do not now be silent and somehow be supportive of what we see in the streets right now, or your contradictions will become very public, and people will see that it wasn’t for Christ that you were standing, it was for white supremacy. It was for perpetuating a powerful system of injustice for those who are the have nots. I don’t want to see that for you. I want to see you as one who is praying, rebuking, answering and yielding. Okay? Or asking others, so they could voice their thoughts and their opinions, and then yielding to the Holy Spirit.

So I want all of my brothers and sisters, black, white, Asian, Hispanic, male, female, older, younger, to be the Gracists that God is calling us to be, and let that craziness play out. Stay away from the nation’s capital. Don’t get sucked in by the enemy to get in a battle with somebody over this. Your life is worth more than this moment, and I sure hope that you will hold on to this word, so that you can be the bridge builder that God is calling you and me and us to be.

Lord Jesus, as we even now pause in prayer, I rebuke the enemy, the prince of the power of the air. Lord, we ask that you would begin to show us and reveal to us, Lord, what many of us have seen for a long time, but now it’s right in our face. It’s in front of us, Lord. This is supremacy, but it’s supremacy from the enemy himself. This is the prince of the power of the air. This is an evil spirit that is continuing to erupt in our presence. And we’re asking you now, God, for our country’s sake, that you would forgive us for our sins, heal our land, as we humble ourselves, God. We are repentant for the things that we have planted in the earth of America. We are repenting, Lord, for our sins, God. We are repenting for the evil that we have done, God, in this country year after year, generation after generation.

And we ask you to be merciful, God. Be merciful to us, Lord Jesus. And Lord, heal our land. Use the current administration to finally put an end to this. Even now, we call on our president to speak up against this even now. We pray for our president elect and the new administration to somehow bring order, as well. So, we pray for the current administration and the future administration. We pray for safety of those elected officials. And we ask most of all, Lord, that the Prince of Peace would take over, in Jesus’s name. Amen. And Amen.
