You’ve heard it before – someone has the “it” factor – that thing that sets them apart and makes them special and even worthy of attention. This year, our ministry theme is “Make It Better” and whatever your “it” is, you can wear a bracelet to remind you to make it better. A few weeks ago my team and I delivered MIB – Make It Better ministry bracelets and prayed over households. After we prayed over one house in particular, I heard the Holy Spirit telling me to find others who needed encouragement and prayer.

It was amazing to see the Holy Spirit move as we engaged with person after person simply by asking, “Is there anything you need prayer for?” For some, it was a physical health concern. For others, it was a broken relationship. I credit God for giving us these opportunities to “Make It Better.” I don’t believe these were random interactions but divine appointments that God had specifically and unmistakably arranged. It’s moments like these that caused me to share a tweet this summer that I later sent out as a textspiration:

“Wherever you go, whatever you do, whomever you meet, whenever you show up, be sure to make it better. Make the world you live in a better place today.”

How are you doing with the #MIB challenge? During my Vision Sunday message a few weeks ago, I gave you a few areas to consider making your “it.”

  • Relationships. This could be your relationship with God or your relationship and fellowship with others. Consider your work relationships, friendships, marriage, and family relationships.
  • Random Encounters. If you look for it, God will send you opportunities to pray for someone, share your testimony, or even lead someone to Christ.
  • Real Life Matters. This is the personal stuff between you and God. Your addictions. Your attitude. Your health. Your sexuality. Your character.

The key verse that will give you the strength and power to “Make It Better” in these areas is Psalm 118:8.

“It is BETTER to trust in God than to put your confidence in man.”

AMAZING!

It is ONLY WITH GOD that you can truly MAKE IT BETTER!

I hope you have been encouraged and blessed by our current sermon series, “Living a Make it Better Life.” We’ve talked about the 8 Attitudes to Make You Better and 9 Spiritual Fruits to Make You Better. Over the next two weeks, I will conclude the series with the 10 Commandments to Make You Better.

So, what’s your “it” factor? What is worthy of being set apart, worthy of special attention, worthy of making better? If your “it” is something we can be praying for you about, you can always email us at eprayer@bridgeway.cc and we will pray with you as you seek to “Make It Better.”
