Leadership by The Book: Learning to Be a Transformational Leader
What kind of leader do you want to be? Are you satisfied with being a transactional leader—the kind of leader that does good leader-type things that check a lot of the right boxes that would, but that doesn’t necessarily bring about needed change? Or would you rather be a transformational leader that leverages your influence to bring about significant change and a lasting legacy? In this four session class, we will look at some keywords associated with transformational leadership that are found in “The Book.” Pastor Dave Michener will share timeless-truth leadership principles from the Scriptures, along with some real-life lessons he’s learned about leading over his 36 years of vocational ministry.

Be Still and Know: Mindfulness, Stress Reduction, and Connecting with God
In this 5-week class, we will experience mindfulness and centering prayer practices that help us become more aware of God’s presence with us and more aware of the peace that is available to us. Practicing mindfulness has many benefits, including reducing stress. Mindfulness is paying attention to what is happening in the present moment, nonjudgmentally, and with compassion. Paying attention to our experience gives us valuable information we can use to live better. Living mindfully allows us to live more connected with God and to more effectively do what God created each of us specifically to do.
Instructor: Heather Alexander, M.D.
Praying Through The Pandemic: Prayer and Spiritual Formation
Romans 12:12 says, “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” Have you felt like God is distant during our times of social distancing and near isolation? The truth is, he’s closer than you think and desires to draw closer to you through these challenging times. The best way to draw closer to God is by communicating with him through prayer. Perhaps, prayer is something that you find challenging to do, whether it is formulating the words to say or even finding the strength to communicate with God. In this class, various topics will be discussed with time reserved for a corporate prayer time.
